Hold on to your hat for this update!  God moved powerfully in one of our team’s afternoon “ATL” (Ask The Lord).  Here are the words of the Adult Leader and a Youth Parnticipant below:

Ninja Turtles, Blue Bucket, Yellow, Orange & ATL

Today, during ATL (Ask the Lord), Hannah saw the colors yellow and orange. Ray saw Ninja Turtles, and Alissa saw a blue bucket. What do Ninja Turtles, a blue bucket and the colors yellow and orange have in common? They showed us that God cares about the smallest details and the great lengths that God’s love would go to touch little children. As we prayed about what God’s plan for us was with these items, we remembered the left over yellow and orange hats that we used the previous day at VBS. We then took the hats and walked through the neighborhood looking for more kids to invite back to VBS. We were directed to a “Blue” house where we saw a little girl in the front yard who began to yell at us saying, “Get out of my yard.” She ran to her mother and grandmother who were on the side of the house while continuing to yell at us. Genia introduced herself to the mother and ask if she had any children who would be interested in coming to VBS. Once the mother asked her three year old daughter if she wanted to go, her whole attitude changed. When the mother went inside to ask her boys if they would like to attend, we notice a “GIGANTIC” blue bucket in the back yard.(a blue kiddie swimming pool!)
One of her two sons decided to join us. We proceeded back to VBS with Dalton and his sister, Lacey, who were completely thrilled to be with us. Ray and Victoria ended up hooking up with a little boy named Jessie. He was not responding to anything they would do to try do to get him to open up. After much perserverance, the wall started to break down and he began to open up to Ray and Victoria. By the end of VBS, Jessie was laughing and even helped to lead one of the songs we sang during worship. It wasn’t until we had large group debriefing later tonight, that the final piece fell into place. Victoria told us that Jessie was wearing Ninja Turtle socks!
We are so blown away to see how God used these outrageous items, and the obedience of our youth to minister the love of Jesus to a handful of precious children God hand picked for us today.

God broke into our worship service in a powerful way tonight as we sang the words of the song below …

Invitation Fountain

All who are weak

All who are weary

Come to the rock

Come to the fountain

And all who have sailed

On the oceans of heartache

Come to the sea

Come on be set free

If you lead me Lord I will follow

Where you lead me Lord I will go

Come and heal me Lord I will follow

Where you lead me Lord I will go

Yes I will go

And all who are weak

All who are weary

All who are tired

All who are thirsty

And all who have failed

All who are broken

Come to the rock

Come to the fountain

                                                                   Lead me I will go

God broke the hearts of the Mission Team and we worshipped the Lord with repentance and weeping before him and one another for more than 2 hours.

I praise God for what He is doing in and through this group.  I can’t wait to wake tomorrow to see what “new mercies” God has for us!
